Teach Art At Home Like an Artist!
Draw a Bible story with black light chalk artist, Jim Pence. This video series is designed for homeschoolers who want to have fun learning art and the Bible. And, in keeping with Jim’s black light chalk artistry, each of these projects incorporate black light chalk or paint.

In this week’s quick draw video, Jim demonstrates how to draw a dog with pastel (or digitally). Watch along step by step and then give it a try yourself this week.
Draw along with Jim (digital or pastel) as he demonstrates how to draw this rose. Jim is using Procreate on an iPad Pro (pastel brushes and 6B pencil setting), but you can get a similar effect with soft (chalk) pastels and/or pastel pencils on dark blue or black paper. As always, if you don’t have pastels or an iPad, work with what you DO have! And don’t forget to have fun. 🙂

This week’s quick sketch is also a watercolor. Get your art supplies out (whatever you have!) and draw/paint along with Jim. (Right-click the reference image above to download.)
This week on Drawing with Jim we’re doing a chalk (or pastel) drawing of a kayaker going down a waterfall. You can download a copy of Jim’s reference image by right-clicking the image below the video.
Remember, if you don’t have pastels or chalks, work with what you do have. And don’t forget to have fun.
In this week’s lesson, we’ll learn how to create a realistic-looking starfield with a digital app (procreate).
