In Art Class #3, Value & Color, you’ll learn how to use value (light and dark) to create a sense of realism, and how to use color to bring your drawings to life.
Lesson 9 – It’s Not Just Black and White
You’ll focus on the Art Element: Value – the lightness or darkness of your subject. Learn to achieve high or low contrast in a drawing.
Lesson 10 – Tone, Shade, and Shadow
One of the hardest things to draw is a sphere. Using just a pencil, you’ll learn easy techniques for making a circle appear 3D using tone, shade and shadow.
Lesson 11 – Color, Color, Color
There’s more to color than a rainbow! In this lesson, you’ll begin to learn how color works by making your own color wheel. You’ll also learn about primary, secondary, warm and cool colors as you jump into the world of drawing with color.
Lesson 12 – Complements and Intermediates
This lesson focuses on color complements (opposites) and intermediate colors. These are important for achieving accurate shadows and realism in your drawings.
