Poppy Collage Art Project (Download)
Create an Abstract Flower in the Style of American Artist Georgia O’Keeffe
Poppy Collage (Georgia O’Keeffe) is the fifth in See the Light’s series, Art Projects. These lessons advance skills and learning as students complete works of art in the styles of famous artists.
Poppy Collage includes an in-depth art history focus on the style of Georgia O’Keeffe, explores related art elements (color, space, shape) and art principles (color gradation, warm colors, balance). Art history and Biblical content are woven into every lesson.
Here’s a brief clip from Poppy Collage:
- The Abstracted Flower Drawing
- Tissue Paper Collage Technique
- Layering Translucent Hues
- Final Details to Create Interest
- Scavenger Hunt
Poppy Collage is geared for ages 10 +. These 4 lessons run approximately 1 ½ hours, but the student should allow 3 to 4 hours to complete this fabulous work of art. Click the link below for a list of the supplies you’ll need to complete this project:
